NEW YORK, July 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An unforeseen and surprising beneficiary of the Economic Stimulus Plan, a plan that George Bush contends will "boost our economy and encourage job creation," has surfaced this week. An independent market-research firm, AIMRCo (Adult Internet Market Research Company), has discovered that many websites focused on adult or erotic material have experienced an upswing in sales in the recent weeks since checks have appeared in millions of Americans' mailboxes across the country.

According to Kirk Mishkin, Head Research Consultant for AIMRCo, "Many of the sites we surveyed have reported 20-30% growth in membership rates since mid-May when the checks were first sent out, and typically the summer is a slow period for this market."

Jillian Fox, spokeswoman for, one of the sites reporting figures to AIMRCo, added, "In a June 15, 2008 survey to our members, thirty two percent of respondents referenced the recent stimulus package as part of their decision to either become a new member, or renew an existing membership."

The economic stimulus plan, which includes a check for up to $600 for individuals and $1200 for married couples (among other benefits), is the product of an agreement between House leaders and the Bush Administration, focused on reviving a struggling economy in the wake of a flagging economy.

Fox also added, "Getting more people to buy porn was probably the last thing Bush had on his mind when he came up with his 'stimulus package,' but we'll take it."

Murst! Now that's an idea for stimulating the, er, economy.

In other words, Bush's money stimulus leads people to spend money being stimulated by looking at bush. ;-)

As for me, I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy by *not* working... that's right, I figure since everything I've ever touched has turned to horse manure and lost all its value, the country will be better off if I *don't* work......

20-30% growth is quite impressive. I wonder if any other industry has seen comparable results...

I think the USA is #1 in porn. Woohoo!

Higher gas prices could also play a role in the growth in porn membership rates. More people are probably staying home and wasting time on the internet.

Akubi, you big lummox... ;-)

I figured out what that picture is in your previous post, by right-clicking on it and checking the file name... It was beretta-logo.jpg or something (the firearms company).

Do a Google Image search for "Beretta Logo" or go to wikipedia for the proof.

You're too clever for your own good!

That was great!

On the pregnancy topic, can anyone explain why the media has been wasting our time on the Jolie/Pitt twins? Who the F cares? Check out item #10 on the linky posted at my new blog designed to be a one post wonder in process.

I seem to remember recently reading that Big Porno has been having some performance problems. Apparently they've been facing stiff competition from the load of sites featuring user-generated porn that has exploded all over net.

In other news, I thought this was pretty brilliant.

I think you have the porn market cornered - even if you're not keen on butt plugs. If one can't be Laura Richardson, porn is the next win-win opportunity in California.

In other news, I’m sad to see the happy-happy-joy-joy BoBo I grew up with fall into this crap.

Your stimulus stats may be skewed by this guy. The industry will be hurting if he gets cut off.

Yeah I read somewhere that he spent 3K a month on porn.
