Thanks for the invite Akubi. I am not so optimistic about this week's entry, but here goes:

S = The Cat in the Hat is always shown wearing a red hat with white stripes.

E = Different colored stripes are what define the resistance of a resistor, an electronic component used in circuits.

U = These electrical components are introduced to students in electrical engineering labs when they are undergraduates.

S = Most of these undergraduate students are male, and a common (mis?pre?)conception is that male engineers often forget to shower and shave.

S = Those who do not shave grow scraggly beards. If you look up "scraggly" in a dictionary, you will find a picture of Casey Serin. Ew.

RIP Ingmar Bergman and IAFF

UPDATE: I do hope to get around to the 6 Degrees of Casey Serin voting process...

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this AM and have felt grumpy and cranky ever since. Still sorting out why exactly... Probably just an annoying dream I forgot.
Also, I miss Stephanie J. (Where are you?).

Is there a subtitled version of Bubble Fiction, an intriguing film Tokyomango mentioned today?

In 1990, the Ministry of Finance announced a new fiscal policy that led to the infamous bubble burst that drove Japan into a long recession. 17 years later, research reveals that things are getting to bad that the country will be driven into the ground within two years. Not good!
