RIP Ingmar Bergman and IAFF

UPDATE: I do hope to get around to the 6 Degrees of Casey Serin voting process...

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this AM and have felt grumpy and cranky ever since. Still sorting out why exactly... Probably just an annoying dream I forgot.
Also, I miss Stephanie J. (Where are you?).

BTW don't forget to play 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to The Cat in the Hat. It could be your last win-win opportunity.

Is there a subtitled version of Bubble Fiction, an intriguing film Tokyomango mentioned today?
She writes:
How do you make failed economic policy into a funny, futuristic comedy? Bubble Fiction, a new movie by Yasuo Baba, does it with a fake funeral, a time machine, and a cast of silly happy characters. In 1990, the Ministry of Finance announced a new fiscal policy that led to the infamous bubble burst that drove Japan into a long recession. 17 years later, research reveals that things are getting to bad that the country will be driven into the ground within two years. Not good!

Casey Cassandra

As the Casey crap draws to a close, I’ve been pondering my thoughts on the mess...

Of course, I’ve never understood his lack of concern over his financial and legal issues, but I’ve always taken an overly literary/historical/what-have-you/philosophical/itsallfucked and absurd perspective on things and his name reminds me of Cassandra.
However, the more details I heard regarding his treatment of his wife and family, I was a proud card carrying Casey Hater – with a capital H.
Nonetheless, he has been a good Cassandra for the rest of us who thankfully aren't personally involved in his messy mess.

The 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to Einstein Winner is…

SouthernBread with this sweet entry! Woohoo! Win-Win!

Southern Bread is the 6 Degrees of Casey Serin Win-Win Winner!
As Ogg suggested over at Stephanie J.’s place wouldn’t it be fun if Casey played the next 6 Degrees of Casey Serin game? Let's have a vote!

Vote for 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to Albert Einstein Winner!

Hey Kidz,
It’s time to vote for the 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to Albert Einstein Win-Win Winner! We have so many sweet entries this week it's going to be a tough decision.

6 Degrees of Casey Serin sure is fun!
Here are the entries in order of submission:

Edgar said...

1) Albert Einstein is credited with the formula E = MC^2.

2) The M in that equation stands for mass.

3) Catholics go to mass.

4) The Pope, his eminence, the head of the Catholic Church, lives in the Vatican City, Rome.

5) The Sistine Chapel is in the Vatican City, and it contains some of the greatest works of Michelangelo, including a painting named "Genesis" which is widely considered to be a masterpiece. ;)

6) Casey Serin, aka KC, should have his ass barbequed in KC Masterpiece barbeque sauce, which, BTW, contains molasses.

Yeah, the Einstein picture is great.

As usual I can think of more than one possibility but I can't choose between them, so you get the lot.

1. Albert Einstein developed the theory of general relativity.
2. Among other things, that theory explains why time slows as the observer approaches the speed of light.
3. Casey's progress toward financial independence slows as the speed of his "business deals" increases.

If we bring Einstein's associates in, there are other ways to connect him to Casey Serin.

1. Einstein was a collegue of Erwin Schrödinger.
2. Schrödinger devised the famous Schrödinger's Cat thought experiment.

From here we can reach Casey Serin by two paths.

3. Schrödinger's Cat involves a cat trapped in a box with poison gas which may or may not have been released.
4. Casey Serin would like to gas Yulia's cat.

Alternately, and somewhat more geekily:

3. In the C programming language, the address of an element before the start of an array or more than one past the end is known as Schrödinger's Pointer.
4. The behavior of a program that even computes such a pointer is undefined. On some machines it can lead to the hard disk being erased, the programmer's real earnings being e-mailed to the IRS, or demons flying out of the operator's nose. The most likely adverse result, however, is a core dump.
5. When he was served with LMP's lawsuit, Casey Serin "dumped core".

1) Albert Einstein emigrated to America to escape Law Enforcement.

2) The LEO's that were after Einstein were enforcing Nazi laws.

3) After 1941, The American branch of the Nazi Party, the German American Bund, was outlawed in America.

4) The Bund was investigated and brought to justice by the FBI

5)The FBi also investigates crimes of wire and mortgage fraud.

6)Casey Serin.

5)Casey Serin did amazing and groundbreaking things in spite of this, and had no regard for money.

6)Casey Serin was known far and wide during his lifetime.OMG!!!!!...Casey Serin is Albert Einstein gone horribly wrong.

S = In the above picture, Casey is standing in a spotlight.

W = Spotlight also happens to be the name of the desktop search in Mac OS X and can locate specific words in documents.

E = The study of the history of words is called etymology.

E = A famous etymologist, Eric Partridge, is known for his explanation on how the word "fuck" came into the English language.

T = In science, a mathematical or logical explanation is known as a theory; a well-known theory is the theory of relativity, which was one of Albert Einstein's many contributions to physics.

1) Albert Einstein brought about research in transmission of electric signals and electrical-mechanical synchronization of time.

2) Steven Hawking is currently the leading physicist in the study of time and space theory.

3) Time is the name of a magazine that debates public issues.

4) Foreclosure has become a public issue in mainstream news.

5) Iamfacingforeclosure.com was the result of one person's experience with foreclosure.

6) Casey Serin currently owns and operates IAFF.com at least until he doesn't...at which time he might still...but maybe not...but then again he might decide he didn't like the terms of the contract...in which case he would still...but if argued against...he would ask them to back off and quit bullying him...if they still don't stop...he'll look in to it

Not six degrees, but six quotations from Einstein ... all appropriate to young fliptard:

"I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details."

"I never think of the future. It comes soon enough."

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."

"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."

Vote for the 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to Jason Voorhees Winner!

Today this character never showed up to the hearing! As the Casey Serin drama continues to spiral into Kafaesque theater don't forget to vote for this week's 6 Degrees of Casey Serin to Jason Voorhees win-win winner! It is worth noting that two of the “kissin’ cousins” in Mocha’s club house of “12 year olds boyz” (AKA Haterz™) submitted entries this week. Sweet!

There was a bit of thread-jacking in this week’s 6 Degrees of Casey Serin™ game so I have summarized the entries here:

Edgar, AKA Mort said...

Numerology time!!

1) Jason Voorhees is the main character in the Friday the Thirteenth series of slasher films

.2) There are thirteen letters in KC Masterpiece, which is a barbeque sauce.

3) KC's ass should be barbequed in KC Masterpiece barbeque sauce, which, BTW, contains molasses.

1. The initials of Jason Voorhees are JV.

2. In high school sports JV stands for Junior Varsity.

3. As a real estate speculator, Casey Serin was clearly part of the junior varsity.

Alternately:

1. Jason Voorhees was a character in a movie called Friday the 13th.

2. The largest earthquake in US history, the 1964 Alaskan quake, occured on a Friday.

3. That earthquake killed 131 people.

Here goes.

1. Jason Voorhees is a movie character who’s last name starts with a V.

2. In the Orwellian, cartoon based movie ‘V for Vendetta’ the main character’s name is “V”.

3. Bush has an Orwellian iron fist rule over the US military and government spending without budgeting, autonomous of the Legislative branch, the checks and balances, and despite promises he made under oath to protect the constitution, when he took office.

4. Con artists inspire confidence, steal money and without budgeting, buy grand things like koi ponds, and then leave broken promises in their wake.

5. Casey Serin is a con artist, koiboi.

How's that Akubi?
DISCLAIMER; All in good fun and all my opinion or just fiction, of course.

Since the recent IAFF legal proceedings bring Kafka to mind I would like to close with a quote of his.
Every revolution evaporates and leaves behind only the slime of a new bureaucracy.

Crazy Pulp Fiction to Casey Serin

For some reason this Groovy Age book review brought to mind the CaseySphere...

Even when his master arrives in the city to assist The Spider against this monumental foe, The Spider fears nothing.
....All the characters growl at one another and ask questions after they have plugged once or twice. The dialogue is hilarious and a fun read. The aforementioned Ram Signh is a howl as he is constantly trying to kill everyone who comes in their path....Everyone in this book overreacts.

Tea and Blinkies

Inspired by the incomparable Stephanie J. (my idol) I’m having a tea Begathon of my own. I am desperately seeking Mariage Frères Festin D’Or AKA:

Ce mariage de thé vert aux fleurs de souci et de menthé nana marocaine a été créé dans l'esprit de la magnificence de l'Orient. Le riche parfum de la menthe fraîche et les fragrances florales qui festoient dans la tasse évoquent les fêtes fastueuses des Mille et Une Nuits. A déguster, chaud ou froid, pour redécouvrir les plaisirs d'un paradis perdu.

Prajna Paramita meets Paris Hilton's thong and then what..?

Well, nothing as usual.
Anyway, after a long swim today I was reminded of my favorite sutra of all time...

When Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara was practicing the profound Prajna Paramita, he illuminated the Five Skandhas and saw that they are all empty, and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty.

Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So too are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness.

Shariputra, all Dharmas are empty of characteristics. They are not produced, not destroyed, not defiled, not pure; and they neither increase nor diminish. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, cognition, formation, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sights, sounds, smells, tastes, objects of touch, or Dharmas; no field of the eyes up to and including no field of mind consciousness; and no ignorance or ending of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death or ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, no accumulating, no extinction, and no Way, and no understanding and no attaining.

Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva through reliance on Prajna Paramita is unimpeded in his mind. Because there is no impediment, he is not afraid, and he leaves distorted dream-thinking far behind. Ultimately Nirvana! All Buddhas of the three periods of time attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi through reliance on Prajna Paramita. Therefore know that Prajna Paramita is a Great Spiritual Mantra, a Great Bright Mantra, a Supreme Mantra, an Unequalled Mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false. That is why the Mantra of Prajna Paramita was spoken. Recite it like this:

Gaté Gaté Paragaté Parasamgaté

Bodhi Svaha!
