Murst!
Easy: One step; both the Cat in the Hat and Casey have a taste for wanton destruction of perfectly good households.
Hm. I can't come up with anything more direct than that. I guess I'll just have to think of the most convoluted path I can, as usual.
1) The Cat in the Hat brought thing one and thing two
2) Dr. Seuss wrote a story of an elephant who flew
3) Horton was faithful one hundred percent
4) Unlike Casey who won't pay back the money he spent
1. Casey Serin is a former associate of mortgage broker and Olympic pin salesman Nigel Swaby.
2. Nigel Swaby has an indoor pool and a pond.
3. With koi and stuff.
4. Koi, a kind of fish, is a member of the goldfish family.
5. In The Cat in the Hat, the goldfish was the voice of reason.
Post back at close:
1. Casey Serin has an online encyclopedia, Caseypedia, dedicated to him.
2. Non award winning blogger and endless source of sweet cashback Akubi is a Caseypedia editor.
3. Akubi has a strange fascination with butt plugs.
4. Casey Serin used his blog to plug his book.
5. The Cat in the Hat is a book.

Thanks, Edgar. I liked your rhyming approach.
As long as you play the game you have the gift. I like all of the entries.
@Edgar,
Yours reads rather like Dr. Suess. No barbeque sauce?

Casey is a wanna be fat cat/
The cat is the hat is a skinny cat/

Four pounds is not much of that/
1. KC lives in Sacramento
2. Sacramento is in California
3. San Diego is in California
4. A big zoo is in San Diego
5. Dr. Seuss derived his characters from the San Diego Zoo
6. The Cat in the Hat is a Dr. Seuss character
Thanks for the invite Akubi. I am not so optimistic about this week's entry, but here goes:
S = The Cat in the Hat is always shown wearing a red hat with white stripes.
E = Different colored stripes are what define the resistance of a resistor, an electronic component used in circuits.
U = These electrical components are introduced to students in electrical engineering labs when they are undergraduates.
S = Most of these undergraduate students are male, and a common (mis?pre?)conception is that male engineers often forget to shower and shave.
S = Those who do not shave grow scraggly beards. If you look up "scraggly" in a dictionary, you will find a picture of Casey Serin. Ew.
