I just came across this article about Haru-urara, the World’s “Losingest” Horse, and couldn't help but think of Casey Serin. While he didn't exactly win our hearts, there are some similarities in the dynamics.

...Until then she’d been just another unknown loser, but Haru-urara turned out to be just the right horse at just the right time: Japan had been on a losing streak of its own - the economy had been in bad shape for more than a decade and unemployment was high - and the losing horse that kept on trying was an inspiration to Japanese workers worried about their own economic futures. Attendance at the race track soared from an average of 1,600 fans per day to 5,000 on Haru-urara’s 100th race (she lost.) Thirteen thousand showed up on her 106th. Japan’s top jockey rod her … and she lost again.
Haru-urara has become the most famous horse in Japan. Fans expect her to lose but bet on her anyway, just to get a ticket with her name on it - it’s considered good luck. So many people place bets on her, in fact, that she’s usually favored to win, even though everyone knows she will lose.

Murst!

Cable damaged my ass. They've got a plug stuck in their series of tubes, and they know it.

I'll check out the fishnets once I'm not on massively focused looser W2 time.

Some news is still getting out through various means, here for instance. No idea how reliable a source that is.

Pretty disturging. Did you see this blog?
BTW these fishnets are SFW or I would have saved them for ZB.

Yes, I saw that and wish I could un-see it.

The fishnets are very nice. I love the photography on the first two. Where do you find these things?

From the above link:

Military sources in Rangoon are claiming that the regime's number two, General Maung Aye (right), has staged a coup against Than Shwe, and that his troops are now guarding Aung San Suu Kyi's home. A meeting between him and Suu Kyi is expected. Maung Aye is army commander-in-chief and a renowned pragmatist.

I don't know enough about the country's politics to understand the impact of that, if it's true.

"Soldiers from the 66th LID (Light Infantry Divison) have turned their weapons against other government troops and possibly police in North Okkalappa township in Rangoon and are defending the protesters. At present unsure how many soldiers involved."

Hmmm, looks like the situation could erupt into civil war. I'm reminded of this anonymous comment on Blog of Nyein Chan Yar:

dear soldiers and policemen of the burmese military regime,

you are checking these site in order to check out and look for "dissidents"
.... chasing them?
....but why?
you really have thought about what you are doing here?
do you think things going right.... for you, your country, your people?
don't you think it could be better?
all these demonstrators in your country doesn't matter they could be killed
by you, soldier.
they have become free of fear only to fight for a better future of all
others, their children, their family and friends.
what's about your family and friends. don't they earn a better future?
policeman, loose your fear, support your people.

... you could be the person
... who changes the situation...
... who moves for food, peace and better life for all of you.

you really think it's a good way to beat monks, praying in their monastaries?
you are supporting a hand full of men, living in wealth,
repressing you and the people in your country.
... take the chance, there are more supporters around you than you think right now.
my best wishes for your peacefully future in freedom.

I wonder if Casey's Modesto pool was infested with these brain-eating amoebas...
...Naegleria lives almost everywhere in lakes, hot springs, even dirty swimming pools, grazing off algae and bacteria in the sediment.

Nah, the Modesto pool went bad too late in the game. I'd be looking at any swimming poolz he had access to before his house-flopping venture.
