I Hate the Academy Awards

but I love this Paris, Je T'aime image via Flowing Heat.
(We'll avoid the fact that Poms are quite rare in Paris, presumably because they are not French enough.)

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE for Flowy: I've been behind on my RSS feeds, but thought you might like this Floating Lykke Li linky in case you missed it.

Happiness is finding Akira/Akubi...

MurstPoms...

Hi Flowy,
My Pom, Akubi, who is currently lying on his leopard skin pillow with his leopard skin blankey makes me happy.
Akira is my rather recent alternate name (see Web Page), but the image is of my other Pom, Tanuki, who makes me happy too. He’s snorting above me as I type. He doesn’t like the Academy Awards, Brad Pitt and George W. Bush either. Perhaps I’m projecting, but he does seem to snort in a sarcastic manner at the right moment – I guess he takes it from his mom.

Lucky Akubi... and lucky Tanuki...

Snort talk... I do that sometimes... and eyerolltalk...advanced communication techniques... I'm still practicing telepathic communication methods... I'm up to one syllable words...

Academy Awards are a legacy of the CEC... Corporatist Entertainment Conglomerate... heir to the Roman circus...

That Lykke Li is beautiful...

Thank you for putting it up...

Everything is a circus, but growing up in L.A., the Academy Awards was always a big event.

Other than reading the books ages ago (AKA The Reader), I haven't seen any films this year. What a waste. Glad you enjoyed LL.

As far as I can tell, Lykke isn't wearing "real" fur.

I like the LL video... more interesting than Hollywood stuff...

Actually I do look at the AA gowns in People magazine when standing in line at the grocery store...

Hi Flowy,
Who was that lovely woman in a red dress wearing a contrasting necklace? Fashion-wise she won hands down.

With all the rain these days, Tanuki has officially gone stir crazy and bit the leg of the nice Safeway Delivery Guy this evening. He broke skin (but is up to date on his rabies shots).
I love Tanuki, but I’m really concerned he could become a serious liability. I've tried Prozac, training, dog relaxation music, therapy, homeopathic herbal remedies, etc. but he remains hyperactive, neurotic and vigilant about trying to bite any guy’s leg who comes within our vicinity.
Maybe Ritalin or Valium would help?

In other news, I'm concerned I might have nose cancer or something along those lines due to certain chemicals I snorted as a teenager.
Since I was a little kid, I always had nosebleeds, but I have had an ongoing weird slit of a nosebleed on the left nostril that has been worrying me. While I see an ear nose and throat Dr., I spend most of the time worrying about my bad ear that always gets infected, but now I’m worried about that nostril.

I hate orifices!

They are nothing but trouble.

P.S.
I like Matsya - Vishnu's incarnation as a fish (currently on the right).

P.P.S.
While the Oscars annoy me, I appreciated what Sean Penn had to say about Prop 8.

I think I want to pierce an orifice... winter boredom...

Hi Akira and Akubi... Tuesday today... every 7 days...

Hi Akubi... I can't figure out who the lady in the red dress is... I'll check next time at the library in an old Vogue...

Sorry about Tanuki... how about a vacation or doggie sleepaway camp?

And sorry about your nostril... I hope the doctor can help...

I've decided not to pierce my nose... I love the way it looks but your nostril distress made me think twice... still undecided about the Sunbeam...

@Flowy,
I'm glad you decided not to pierce your nose.

I found the red dress! Here's the back. More later...
