Hope for the best

Edgar AKA Buzz Saw brought another depressing dog-related post to my attention: Lost Dogs.

...After walking and driving for miles around the neighborhood I've learned that other people have similar stories to tell. I've also learned that there is a pit bull ring working in Irving, kidnapping dogs to train their pit bulls with. They use friendly dogs when teaching their pit bulls to kill, so that their pit bull won't be injured.

I don't believe my dogs are coming back. It's hard to write this. I keep expecting them to come in and try coax me away from the keyboard with a ball or chew toy.

Ella, Teaser and Chipmunk, I miss you guys.

I can't imagine how sad I would be in Weaseldog's situation. The thought of cute little Ella being used as pit bull bait really pisses me off. I have no idea where Irving is, but if anyone happens to live in that area perhaps you could help find them before it's too late :(.

I get so depressed looking at that photo and imagining what might be happening to those dogs. While I've become somewhat immune to human tragedy having seen all of the dead troops every night on the News Hour for the past few years, I hate the fact that this species takes the innocent others down with their BS.

Not that it matters, but i voted today. None of the above!

@Buzz Saw AKA Edgar,
Well, at least you voted.

Another sad dog story: Dog Broken, Crippled, Abandoned, No Home….. No Hope? Please Help!

I didn't get my ballot thanks to a screwup at the auditor's office. Not that it matters. The presidential primary is just for show here. It's the caucus resuls that count, and you have to be a party member to participate.

@Ogg,
Do you mean you didn't get an absentee ballot sent to you or you went to vote and you weren't in the system?
Six of the 24 states holding primaries today are at a high risk of miscounting votes because of machines that malfunction or are tampered with. 'Crash tested' e-voting machines spread doubt on Super Tuesday

My precinct is absentee-only. You cannot go anywhere and vote in person. There's some paperwork that I need to fill out before I can get a ballot, but the auditor didn't mail it to me until after the deadline to send it back.

@Ogg,
Why are is your precinct absentee-only? It seems like you'd lose a lot votes that way - particularly if they send the ballots late.

@Edgar,
It looks like Billary won Oklahoma.

For demographic reasons that I won't go into here, a lot of people are registered to vote in a different county. Of those remaining, enough opt for absentee that the in-person turnour was very small. Personally I would've preferred to see them consolidate precincts instead of going absentee-only.

The dems are going to hand the repugs four more years. I am so ashamed of my state and my country.

Akubi said...

If Billary goes the same way in CA I'm not only considering moving out of state, but out of country.

I am so depressed. If I were younger I would attempt to move somewhere else. I am serving notice to all people of the world that I no longer hold myself responsible in any way for the actions of my government.

People everywhere can be counted on to act in what they think their best interests are. Moving won't change that.

I'm so fucking pissed off.
