She doesn't look she ever missed a meal in her life. I guess the ruling class is winning the battle against anorexia.

Burmese traditional wedding cake?

My junior cat was up on my bench watching this, he jumped down and tossed up a huge chunder. Saves me from throwing up a bit in my mouth.

Chevron’s Pipeline is the Burmese Regime’s Lifeline
The U.S. government has had sanctions in place against Burma since 1997. A loophole exists, though, for companies grandfathered in. Unocal’s exemption from the Burmese sanctions has been passed on to its new owner, Chevron.

Hi akubi,

Where is the tags setting on blogger? I tried looking around, but got tired.

Chevron sux. The guys over at TOD were trying to tell everyone how progressive they were, not like that Evil Exxon-Mobil they said. TOD is a bunch of industry butt kissers looking for a job sucking the corporate fascist teat, IMO.

@wagga,
Yes, it is pretty nauseating, but clarifies why Burma is tied with Somalia as the most corrupt country in the world according to their Corruption Perceptions Index.

@Edgar,
The tags are in the white box a the bottom of the post. It's labeled "Labels for this post:
e.g. scooters, vacation, fall."

@Edgar,
It seems rather like saying Iraq is progressive because it's not quite as corrupt as Burma.
What's TOD BTW?

The whole group looks a bit stocky by Burmese standards.

We're not deconstructing sweet porn, though. What I want to know is how a country with a per capita GDP of $1,700 can afford so many diamonds...

I believe we can do better than this.
