That's about how my mouth looks at the moment, but I'm not wearing lipstick - just blood. I bit my right cheek during lunch and it bled and continued to swell to the point that I keep biting on the same fucking place over and over again (jaw clenching/teeth grinding problem) and it is driving me fucking crazy. I keep washing my mouth with Listerene and spitting up blood to the alarm of my dogs.
Maybe I should take a Rozerem and go to sleep with an ice pack before doing further harm.

I have bitten myself like that before. When I sleep my cheek gets pressed in between my molars, then for some reason I bite down hard. Then, as you say, it keeps happening. Try packing with gauze during the day.

I have had the same mouth teeth breakdown of communication for a lobg time.
One can only baby it,to quote my dentist.
It is really painful to, smile, chew or talk, but other than that NBD, RIGHT.

I've had that happen, it's not fun. Tends more to happen when I'm eating tho, so I just pack some soft food (rice, bread) into that side of my mouth (like a squirrel? or a hamster?) and keep on munching.

While it has definitely improved with the gauze solution, chewing is still a problem (particularly eating because the foods I like tend to irritate it) - perhaps more due to my own paranoia that I will bite it again.

I just bought more gauze, but bread or rice is an excellent idea as a substitute I hadn't thought of.

In completely unrelated news, there's been a recent tragic local story about a despondent woman who went on a hike last week with a government-issued handgun and hasn't been seen since. It's a puzzling story. I don't understand why the official search was suspended so soon.
Also, does anyone know why an IRS agent would carry a government-issued handgun?
