2759 Unique Carp Nibble Feet

Hat tip to wagga for this find sent with this subject line: Doctor fish are a kind of carp, and so are koi!

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (AP) -- Ready for the latest in spa pampering? Prepare to dunk your tootsies in a tank of water and let tiny carp nibble away.

Fish pedicures are creating something of a splash in the D.C. area, where a northern Virginia spa has been offering them for the past four months. John Ho, who runs the Yvonne Hair and Nails salon with his wife, Yvonne Le, said 5,000 people have taken the plunge so far.

"This is a good treatment for everyone who likes to have nice feet," Ho said.

He said he wanted to come up with something
unique while finding a replacement for pedicures that use razors to scrape off dead skin...

I know you are a dog lover but I'd be sorely tempted to feed that one a Prestone burger.

Waist deep - yeah! that's what kc wants.

Prestone burger? Mursty, shame on you!

Has Nigel been dipping his rapidly balding pate into his outdoor koi pond? Those hairs aren't just vanishing by themselves! ;-)

@Mursty Edgar,
While I do love dogs, I’d have a hard time dealing with that one. I’d try doggy Prozac, Valium and various other options before Prestone though.

@Wagga,
It is bad enough to imagine all of those fish eating my feet.

@Casey,
I thought he sold his koi pond property, didn’t he? Perhaps he’s experiencing long term side effects.

In other news, my dogs and cat are unusually relaxed this evening. Kookoo kitty is sitting on my left and Tanuki is on my right while Akubi is passed out by the fan. None of them are yapping.

I wonder if there's diversity training or some such thing for dogs. It is quite embarrassing, but my dogs yap at anyone who isn’t white or Asian – as they did a couple of times earlier today.

Radar mog (Mr.DBA) is asleep in a nest of pinfeed weeds. Puck (the mechanical mog) is asleep on one of the printers. Grub (aka dead cat) is in the window in Tango Uniform mode.

Akubi said...

@Wagga,
Where does one find a DBA kitty?
Actually, I could really use a mechanical one to fix my printers which I have always hated and tend to throw out windows.
In other news, some bad-ass pre-teen anony-troll seriously "upset" me on 6 Degrees of KC. ;)

I thought the koi pond/indoor pool (no sun == no algae) property was Nigel's mom's, or perhaps his ex-wife's.

As I was sitting down to eat my cats went apeshit. I blame a combination of me coming home late, laborers working outside all day, and sushi. They're sleeping it off now.

Most of Raymond Chen's posts just make me glad I'm not doing Win32, but I liked his modest proposal about SUVs.

After killing a rival gangster at San Quentin in 1975, Guillermo Bermudez renounced his gang ties, became a mentor to young people and began to produce art in prison, including this self-portrait. A FORMER GANG MEMBER who murdered a rival at San Quentin State Prison more than three decades ago has won a rare prize in California - a release recommendation from the parole board.

WTF?
I tried to upload some hot Luba pix and received the following response from Blogger:
We're sorry, but you have exceeded your photo upload quota. For more information, check out this Blogger help page.
Blogger sucks.

Don't worry about the anonypuss troll, at least it wasn't threatening. I've had threatening comments / exchanges before, I always laugh, I'm like dude, you don't know anything about me. LOL.

We're sorry, but you have exceeded your photo upload quota...

How many millions of pictures have you downloaded anyway? :P

@Ogg,
Mmmm, sushi.

@Edgar,
No, I wasn't terribly concerned about the anonytroll hence the use of quotes in "upset".

I'm not exactly sure, but I still have a *ton* of unposted ones.

In other news I thought this was rather interesting:
In a report titled “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: Enhancement in Self-Recognition,” which appears online in The Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Nicholas Epley and Erin Whitchurch described experiments in which people were asked to identify pictures of themselves amid a lineup of distracter faces. Participants identified their personal portraits significantly quicker when their faces were computer enhanced to be 20 percent more attractive. They were also likelier, when presented with images of themselves made prettier, homelier or left untouched, to call the enhanced image their genuine, unairbrushed face. Such internalized photoshoppery is not simply the result of an all-purpose preference for prettiness: when asked to identify images of strangers in subsequent rounds of testing, participants were best at spotting the unenhanced faces.

@Akubi

Radar (the DBA cat) used to run Oracle & M$SQL Server databases. Up all night working. No fun for him.
Now he manages Firebird databases and can play all night & sleep all day.

Will he sell as as many as 2759 copies?

@Wagga and @Casey,
Your suggestions have been noticed in latest post.

@Edgar,
Wow, you're right. However, "Akubi" is big in Japan and they have more bloggers than any other country in the world.

Maybe so, but still, you are well represented in there. I perused the first few pages and saw a bunch of your stuff.
