Cherry Picked

Funny Wagga finds of the morning:

US hackette ponders jub-powered iPod. He recommends that you go for the strenuous option on this clicky link.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Thanks to some text message-savvy grandchildren, North Carolina drivers whose license plates have the potentially offensive "WTF" letter combination can replace the tags for free.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday the state Division of Motor Vehicles has notified nearly 10,000 holders of license plates with the letter combination. Officials learned last year the common acronym stands for a vulgar phrase in e-mail and cell phone text messages.

But this week, the DMV officials got another surprise when they learned the same letters appeared on the agency's own Web site on a sample personalized plate.

That could be interesting. But it's sad that we live in an age when the Discovery Channel confuses killer whales and Great White sharks.

Not a fan of commercial TV, so I wasn't aware that the Discovery Channel confuses killer whales and Great White sharks. That is insane. Source (or is it an internet tradition I'm not aware of or missed in all of my feeds)?

@Ogg,
K, I'm an idiot. Since I'm not supposed to view YouTube at work I'm rather covert about it and in the process miss details like the Great White/Killer Whale thing.

Neither am I. (Well, no official policy but I avoid things that are blatant non-work, considering how everyone can see my screen.) I had to wait until I got home to watch it.
